This charger does have a built in over charge protection, discharge protection, short-circuit protection, over heating protection, stable voltage protection. This charger also senses the attached device, and delivers the max power allowed for it. This had 3 LED power indicators, one for each USB port, it lets you know which port or device is currently charging. These are east to see but soft enough so they don't distract you while driving. This is very durable and lightweight. When your phone battery or etc is full the charger stops charging and the LED indicator turns off. This triple booster car charger is made of fire resistant material, this should provide years of easy and safe and enjoyable use. I have to say I love this set, it's very nice and does work very good. I haven't had any problems with this wonderful car charger so far, it works just as good if not better than others I have tried that are similar.
